What is Omnilux Contour?

Based on the world’s leading Omnilux Medical™ light therapy technology, Contour is an FDA cleared flexible, portable, affordable home-use device that uses light-emitting diodes (LED) to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve overall skin tone, firmness, and health.

How does it work?

Optimized energy output and two clinically proven wavelengths of light work on a cellular level to stimulate new collagen and minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and the visible signs of aging.

Is it safe?

Over 40 clinical studies and nearly 20 years of experience have proven that Omnilux light therapy is very safe, with no adverse side effects, no pain, and no downtime. Omnilux Contour generates no heat or UV light and is intended for adults 21+ and is safe for all skin types.

What is the treatment regimen?

We recommend 1 - 2 treatments per week, 10 - 20 minutes each. Our favorite way to use Omnilux Contour is with Forlle'd P-effect Reliance Gel layered underneath.

Can I use Omnilux Contour with my current skincare products?

Omnilux Contour is compatible with most skincare routines. It can also be used in conjunction with other professional skin treatments such as microneedling, peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, injections, or fillers to promote healing and optimize results.

Do I need eye protection with the Omnilux Contour FACE mask?

No, it has been tested and conforms to medical device standards including IEC/EN 62471 Photobiological eye safety standard. If your eyes are exceptionally sensitive, you may want to experiment with wearing goggles and reclining for your own comfort.

Can I use Omnilux Contour while moving around or do I have to remain plugged into a wall outlet while using it?

The Contour is completely portable and battery-powered so you can easily walk or move around while wearing it. You only need to plug it into an outlet to recharge the battery.

Can I use it more frequently than the 2-3x per week in the User Guide?

Yes. There is no downside to using it more frequently. However, using it more often will not, in most cases, provide any faster or better results.

How many LEDs does Omnilux Contour have?

Omnilux Contour has more LEDs than any other home use LED device. Contour FACE has a total of 132 LEDs (66 red and 66 infrared) encased in 66 bulbs.

What does LED light therapy do?

LED light therapy utilizes specific wavelengths (colors) of light and energy levels (brightness) to stimulate the body’s own natural healing processes. LED light works at the cellular level, inducing a cascade of cellular reactions aimed at specific skin conditions and outcomes. Light therapy boosts cellular performance to encourage and enhance the body’s ability to heal itself from the inside out.

Does LED light therapy actually work?

Yes. Omnilux Contour is FDA cleared and has been clinically proven to produce medical-grade results. However, not all LED masks are created equal. Some brands are less powerful and lack the clinical studies or FDA clearance that demonstrate proven effectiveness.

How long does it take LED light therapy to work?

Each person is a little different. Some will see improvement in a single treatment. Others will see improvement with additional treatments. In all cases we recommend 1 - 2 treatments per week.

What does an LED mask do for your face?

Omnilux Contour FACE helps speed the skin’s healing process, reduces inflammation, increases microcirculation, minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as the appearance of pigmentation and redness. It also improves overall skin tone and firmness.

Can I use an LED mask every day?

Our Omnilux Contour protocol is 1-2 treatments per week. You may use your mask every day if you like. However, more frequent use may not produce faster or better results.

What does red LED light do for skin?

Red light reduces inflammation and boosts blood oxygen levels in the skin. It increases collagen production by stimulating fibroblast cells and improves overall cellular performance.

What are the benefits of red light therapy?

Red light therapy reduces the appearance of pigmentation and redness in the skin. It also improves overall skin tone and restores a youthful glow.

What does infrared LED light do for skin?

Infrared light penetrates deeper than red light, targeting fibroblast cells in order to induce the production of new collagen and elastin.

What are the benefits of infrared light therapy?

The minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and the overall improvement in skin firmness and vibrancy.

Are light therapy masks safe?

All Omnilux Contour products are FDA cleared for safety and effectiveness for all skin types. Omnilux products conform to all US and international testing standards for safety, including eye safety.

Will light therapy increase pigmentation or exacerbate melasma?

The red and near-infrared wavelengths used in our Contour devices have been shown to decrease pigmentation, not increase it. Although we are FDA-cleared for treating fine lines & wrinkles, studies and anecdotal data have shown benefit in reducing the overall appearance of sun damage and pigmentation. As melasma is a hormonal condition, it can be difficult to treat. While there have been some reports of melasma improvement using red and near-infrared light, Ommilux Contour has not been specifically tested for this condition, but it should not make your melasma worse.

Will this help with psoriasis, rosacea, or eczema?

There are studies showing that red and near-infrared light therapy may be effective in reducing redness & inflammation and improving overall skin tone due to rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema flare-ups. However, Omnilux Contour has not been tested specifically for these skin conditions.

Is light therapy safe to use with Retinol or RetinA?

Yes.

How do I charge my Omnilux device?

1. Select appropriate plug-type wall socket adapter for your country and connect to power supply plug.
2. Insert USB micro-connector (smaller connector) side of power supply charging cable into the oval-shaped controller.
3. NOTE: DO NOT CONNECT THE LED DEVICE TO THE CONTROLLER WHILE CHARGING. THIS MAY DAMAGE THE DEVICE.
4. Insert the power supply plug into a suitably grounded electrical outlet.
5. The 3 lights on the controller will flash, indicating the level of charge. The controller battery will be fully charged when all 3 lights are illuminated. This can take up to 5 hours.
6. Unplug the power supply and power charging cable from the controller.
7. Plug the device into the controller (the larger USB connector) and hold controller button down for 2 seconds to activate the device.

Can I use while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Omnilux products have not been studied in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Red light therapy is very safe overall. If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult with your doctor for approval.

Should I use any serum, cream or other skincare products underneath the Contour light therapy device?

Omnilux Contour can be used on clean, bare skin, or with a hydrating mask like Forlle'd P-effect Reliance Gel. 

Is the device under warranty?

Please register your warranty upon receipt of your device here. Under normal use this product is guaranteed for 2 years after its original purchase date against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. The controller is warranted for 1 year. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser. If the product should become faulty within the warranty period, contact your provider.
